We offer guided horse trails:

1.5-Hour Mountain Bush Trail — R250
A perfect adventure for families and friends! This scenic horse trail takes you through the beautiful bush and mountain surroundings of Thandile. No riding experience needed! our well-trained horses make it safe and enjoyable for everyone, even beginners and children. Relax, take in the view, and experience the magic of nature from horseback. Young riders between 4 and 10 years old are warmly welcome to join our trails. For their safety and comfort, an additional guide will accompany them free of charge

3-Hour Mountain Adventure Ride — R500
Designed for the experienced rider who’s ready for a real adventure. This trail takes you deeper into the bush and up into the mountains, where the views are breathtaking and the ride becomes more challenging. Expect longer canters and varied terrain an unforgettable experience for confident riders who love exploring nature at its wildest.

In Summer clients can also swim with the horses in the dam at the lodge at an additional rate of R100 pp.

Guided Sunset Trail — R700
Ride into the golden light of the African sunset on this unforgettable guided trail. Perfect for couples or friends looking for a magical evening in nature. Enjoy a relaxed ride through the bush as the sky turns shades of orange and pink, followed by a refreshing drink and light snacks overlooking the mountains. As the stars begin to appear, you’ll ride back under the African night sky. A peaceful and truly enchanting experience you’ll never forget.

Mountain Dinner Trail — R1050
A breathtaking ride through the bush and into the mountains as the sun begins to set. This guided trail is perfect for couples or small groups who want to combine adventure with a touch of magic. After a scenic ride, you’ll arrive at a cozy mountain spot where a delicious dinner awaits. Served under the open African sky. As night falls, ride back beneath the stars, surrounded by the sounds of nature. An unforgettable evening of connection, freedom and pure beauty.

For this activity we have a maximum of 6 people. Booking should be at least 24 hours in advance.

Spend a relaxing day by the water at our scenic dam, surrounded by peaceful bushveld views and birdlife. Cast your line and try your luck catching carp. Our dam follows a catch-and-release policy to keep the ecosystem in balance.

Guests are welcome to make use of the nearby braai facilities, making it the perfect spot for a laid-back afternoon with friends or family. Whether you’re an avid fisherman or just want to enjoy the calm of the water, Thandile Dam offers the ideal outdoor escape.

±200 hectares of game trails The variety at Thandile includes giraffe, kudu, ribbok, warthog, baboon, vervet monkeys, blue wildebeest and other small game indigenous to the area.
