Hiking trails

Explore Thandile’s untouched beauty on foot. Our hiking trails lead you through over 250 hectares of bushveld and mountain landscape, where you might spot some of our free-roaming horses or local wildlife along the way.

Children Activities

Horseriding on a lead with our caring staff; Table tennis. Engage with the miniature/potbelly pigs called“Olive and Patches” and watch Kerneels and Mathilda the resident giraffes grazing in front of the resturant.

Fishing

Spend a relaxing day by the water at our scenic dam, surrounded by peaceful bushveld views and birdlife. Cast your line and try your luck catching carp. Our dam follows a catch-and-release policy to keep the ecosystem in balance.

Guests are welcome to make use of the nearby braai facilities, making it the perfect spot for a laid-back afternoon with friends or family. Whether you’re an avid fisherman or just want to enjoy the calm of the water, Thandile Dam offers the ideal outdoor escape.

Game Viewing

±200 hectares of game trails The variety at Thandile includes giraffe, kudu, ribbok, warthog, baboon, vervet monkeys, blue wildebeest and other small game indigenous to the area.

Bela-Bela Hotsprings

Pop over to the hot springs of Bela-Bela If you have children, nothing will please them more than a day outing to the water wonderland at Forever Resorts Aventura Warmbaths, less than 15 minutes' drive from Thandile.

Golf

Gholfing and adventure sports in Bela-Bela We are situated just 4 km from Elements Private Golf Reserve, which was recently rated in the Top 10 Golf Courses of South Africa for the second year in succession.

We had an unforgettable experience at Thandile Country Lodge. Best place for the whole family to experience farm life, interact with horses, pigs. Relax with nature and animals surrounding you. The giraffes Kerneels and Matilda are a sight to see. The River "kothuis" is beautiful decorated and private.
